By Nithin, Heather, and Milton
We left for Shadyside around 3PM on Friday, October 2nd after we ate lunch at Market. We took the 71D to get to Shadyside and bus ride lasted around 25 min. After we got off we walked about 13 min to the heart of Shadyside. This was convenient because Nithin needed to go to Walgreens which was very close by. Milton bought "limited addition" brownie flavored Oreo Cookies, which he realized he didn't like and encouraged us to take "as much as we wanted". On our walk we saw a lot of intricately designed churches and buildings. While we were walking we could see a Target in the distance, but we couldn't get there because the road was blocked. As you can see in the pictures, there are plenty of fast food joints and restaurants in the area. Our impression of Shadyside was that it was definitely more of an upscale area, sporting nicer cars and cleaner streets than many other parts of the city. Unfortunately, the weather that day wasn't the best so there weren't a whole lot of people socializing outside. But we can say that this is definitely a nice place to visit when going out with friends on a Saturday evening.
